Some of the most common  dye carpet projects are carpet dye Bleach stains, plant stain, pet stain and red soda stains No liquid carpet dye can cover all these stains yet carpet dye sticks can cover all of them and much much more. any carpet dye stain you have can be covered, repairs, dyed or fixed with carpet dye sticks. Stain: A stain is a discolored spot or area on or in some thing, in this case we are considering the situation of carpet spots and carpet stains.
A discolored spot or carpet stain is caused by added, subtracted or altered colors.
"Permanent stain" is a relative term in that even the so called permanent carpet dye from the mill at the time of manufacturing was not completely permanent in a case of a bleach stain, pet urine stain or a sun fade stain where the color was removed from the carpet. For the most part a person referring to a carpet stain as permanent is inferring that the carpet stain can not be simply cleaned out.
A stain can be caused or made by a number of different color changing or stain causing things ranging from common food stains such as oils, proteins and organic matter stains to food dyes, chemicals for cleaning, deodorizing and pest control, and from sun faded stains to pet fices, urine and vomit stains and even plant foods that leak throw the potted plant liners can cause permanent color altered stains (Plant stain). Plant stains can not be cleaned out and can not be dyed with liquid carpet dyes yet are no problem for carpet dye sticks.
It is common for a home owner to not know where or when a stain appeared, this is because the stains often come slowly, for example if a bleach or cleaning product is spilled on a carpet that contains bleach or a very high / very low pH chemical it may dry quickly and or be diluted in such a way as to where it will not alter the color nor cause a stain all at once yet as the sun shines on it from the window or as the temperature or humidity in the room changes, the bleaching agent is activated and the color is slowly altered or removed.  I have even seen situations where some one put a powder like 7 dust on the carpet to kill flees and then years later went to clean the carpet and when the cleaning solution inter acted with the powder it cause a chemical reaction causing huge ugly brown reddish stains every where the powder was and even the carpet cleaner was confused as to where the stain was coming from.
Our product ( carpet dye sticks) is for use on a permanent carpet stain and is intended to be used on all types of carpets and carpet stains after the carpet has been cleaned properly and completely. We consider hot water extraction with a pH neutral solution or rinse to be the best way to clean a carpet.
To put it in more common terms or to explain more fully I would first like to say that using a pre-spotter spray to treat the soiled areas and stains, then cleaning with a very diluted cleaning solution if not straight hot water with no soap as a rinse in your hot water extraction home carpet cleaning machine is the very best way to clean your carpet and to avoid re soiling or if you are using a professional carpet tech with a truck mounted hot water extraction unit I would suggest that you tell him that you want him to use pre-spray and turn the chemical feed on his machine off or very very low, this should be no surprise nor trouble for him to do.

(cleaning a carpet with out rinsing it is like shampooing your hair with out rinsing it. It will be sticky and stiff and attract dirt.)

Too much water for the machine's wet vac to extract the water fully is not good for the carpet.
Over wetting carpet or a carpet staying wet too long is damaging to the carpet construction, backing and fibers and can create Oder and bacteria problems in your carpet padding and sub-floor. If you are using an electric ( portable hot water extraction or so called steam cleaning machine) make sure you keep the filter inside the dirty water tank clean and free from obstruction. If you are using a professional carpet cleaner ask him to make a dry stoke after every wet stroke of his carpet cleaning wand this will assure that the carpet drys quickly. now that your carpet is cleaned and rinsed and you have done everything you can to remove all stains it is time to address the permanent stains.
Carpet dyes sticks are a safe simple and effective way to recolor re dye and even cover carpet stains. it is so easy to use and you will be amazed at the results.   watch our instructional video as many times as you need. and please if you have any questions feel free to call.  or contact us at wwwcarpetdyesticks.com                  John

If your carpet has a stain in it than it can be recolored, redyed, fixed repaired or removed. For the most part a carpet stain can not be a stain if the carpet that it is on is not capable of being dyed colored or redyed in the first place. Some carpets can not be stained because they are made of a hard plastic called olefin. Olefin carpet can be "uglied out" but it can not have a stain in the same way that a regular carpet can have, you can spill a gallon of bleach on an olefin carpet and it will not take the color out of it. Oil and friction burns are the worst enemy to olefin carpet. I am not advising you to use olefin carpet because of the way it reacts to friction yet it does have a place in the market, mostly as commercial level loop carpet, and secondly as a residential Berber carpet. olefin will get millions of tiny microscopic friction burns on it and as they all add up they will appear to be a dirty traffic area in the carpet. The microscopic scratches or friction burns will distort the way the carpet refracts light and color, when you have the carpet cleaned and it is still wet the water content fills the microscopic scratches and restores the refraction of the light and color making the carpet cleaning to appear to have fixed the stain or dirty looking traffic area yet when it drys the dirty ugly traffic area returns.

Other carpet fibers are polyester, nylon, and solution dyed nylon. Regular nylon carpets are the most common carpet type on the floors and in the stores to date and most stains will be found on nylon carpets. If you spill or splash bleach on a nylon carpet it will turn bright yellow in minutes. A carpet stain caused by bleach is caused by the high PH of the bleach and likewise a low PH cleaner such as tub, toilet and tile cleaners will also remove the color from a carpet causing a stain. Some dyes found in foods and drinks such as cool aid and soda pops or even in dog and cat foods will stain the carpet. Plant stains caused by the high PH alkaline plant foods and the wetting of the carpet when the potted plant liner under the house plant has leaked will cause a goldish yellow water mark that can not be cleaned out and can not be dyed with a liquid dye yet can be re colored so easily with carpet dye sticks. CARPET DYE, DYE CARPET, CARPET DYES, DYE CARPETS, CARPET DYE, DYE CARPET, CARPET DYES, DYE CARPETS, CARPET DYE, DYE CARPET, CARPET DYES, DYE CARPETS,

Carpet  dye sticks are used best on bleach spots as well as faded out areas on carpeting.  In addition,    carpet dye sticks have had moderate success on stains that are darker than the original carpet color.

Step #1:  Bleach spots and stains must first be cleaned, neutralized and rinsed before applying Carpet Dye Sticks. This can be accomplished with a hot water extraction carpet cleaning machine. Do not rinse with soap.  Only clear, hot water is needed after cleaning.

Step #2:  Apply Carpet Dye Sticks to slightly damp carpet.  Using a white note pad or sheet of copy paper in order to determine what colors are needed to make a color match. (See instructions and insight below for making color selections.)

Step #3:  Using your hand or a carpet groomer, blend the dye sticks to match original carpet color by softly and easily rubbing the dye stick on the stained area.  Start in the middle and work your way to the edges of the stain.  Start off light and gradually work to a darker color to match your carpet specifications.  Most mistakes are made when too much dye stick is applied.  This can be remedied by simply cleaning the affected area and starting over.

Step #4:  If the shade is too dark, wipe the affected area softly with a cloth and lighten to a more desired shade.  Also, you may clean enough off to start over.  This product is produced to be partly non-permanent to allow you several attempts to get the color just right.

Step #5:  The gray dye sticks are for shading all other colors as well as for gray carpets.

Customers tell us that they have had great success covering plant stains and red drink stains.  However, we freely admit that it is not as easy to cover stains that are darker or brighter such as red.  We never encourage anyone to bleach out their stains in order to re-dye them.  On the other hand, we have been told by others that they have done this. We caution against it.  Any time bleach is close to carpet, it has the potential of destroying your carpeting.
